I am indebted to Tigray Government for the support and My wife for being very supportive and her patience during my study. The prevalence of HIV is high with visible impact in a recently starting the struggle to overcome poverty. The effort to combat the impact of HIV have no equal attention to other developmental activities. Governmental organizations have little attention in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS in the planning process and/or during implementation. Non Governmental organizations and civil society organizations are few in number and financially weak, coordination for NGO'S and community organizations have duplication of interventions and concentration in geographical distribution, Poor surveillance, research and reporting system. Local Community based organizations like "EQUIB","MAHIBER" and Civil associations like Women association and youth association are not contributing their share.
HIV/AIDS epidemic has become a global crisis affecting all levels of society. It is an urban threat that affects the civil servants uniquely. The social and economic consequences of the epidemic are having an impact on civil servants, institutions and on the development of the town. All the civil servants and their institutions are faced social and economic problems by the epidemic. The objective of the study is to reveal that the social and economic impacts of HIV/AIDS on civil servants of Wukro town in Tigray, Ethiopia. Therefore, the analysis will help the individuals, institutions and policy makers to understand the socioeconomic impacts of HIV/AIDS on civil servants, so as to forward or plan the possible measures to reduce these impacts on the development.
The Use of Indigenous Communication Approaches for HIV/AIDS Prevention in Erob Woreda, North Eastern Tigray' is a research work undertaken in Erob, North Eastern Tigray, in Ethiopia. It gives a glimpse of the Erob culture and the different forms of folk media there in the area. People of the area have been using them in their different social and political contexts since the time immemorial. They may use them in different settings ranging from like reflecting opinion both for appreciation and criticism of individuals, politics, and others to conflict resolution among the Erob people. Therefore, although there are limited researches carried out in the area, this research work could be taken as a very great input in promoting and enhancing the different folk media forms of the Erob People.
