Aid for Trade in Asia and the Pacific:Promoting Connectivity for Inclusive Development
The growing concern for an inclusive society, where the rights of minorities should be increasingly assured, is a reality in national and international scene. This book was developed to explore the universe of E-Learning and mobile technologies that are related to the inclusion of people with disabilities, especially the visually impaired, in order to propose and model an interactive tool called MoodleVox to aid the teaching-learning seeking to help the students in their interaction with distance learning courses.
This audio will help families, teachers, principals, social workers, 12 step sponsors, pastors, and religious deal with conflict, overcome self-deception and promote honesty, integrity, and interdependence. The art of leadership is brought into focus and the capacity of all to share in the power to make things better. A sense of powerlessness, blame, suspicion and backward looking attitudes drains individuals and groups of their capacity to grow. Sr. Riley challenges the listener to a profound self-examination that will aid the individual in learning how to listen to others, be humble truthful, inclusive and forgiving. She stresses the need for mentors in leadership and spiritual guides to build healthy friendships, to be hopeful and a person of vision. With humor, practical suggestions and a great deal of experience she demonstrates healthy ways of leading others and being led. She stresses the need for delegating power and then supporting the one who has received the power to carry out in his or her own unique way any given project. At the same time, she shows the need to be supportive towards those in authority so that they will not become isolated and lose touch with what is going on in the family or organization. Ultimately, a good leader learns how to gather information, administer an organization well and recognize the sacred in the world and the people who are working together for a common goal. This is a powerful and practical program that will be listened to again and again. It is an excellent discussion starter for any family or group that feels fragmented and stuck in unhealthy, debilitating ways of behaving. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Sr. Carole Riley, Ph.D.. This book draws lessons from the story of Sri Lanka´s post-conflict development in the context of a struggle for socio-political reconciliation, a turbulent world economy, and difficult internal and external political challenges. Heightened volatility in the global economy and intensifying geopolitical rivalries pose complex policy challenges for small countries embarking on post-conflict daunting challenges. To sustain peace, development needed to be broad based and inclusive. It needed to rapidly reconstruct war-devastated regions, restore macroeconomic stability, while delivering a ´peace dividend´. The book contains contributions that highlight Sri Lanka´s endeavours of coping with adverse shocks, while exploiting new opportunities. It showcases how the island country had to attract capital and assistance, and support of the international community, including that of the rising Asian giants - China and India. Addressing the post-conflict challenges of sourcing development finance in a new global financial and political landscape, the book would be of interest to researchers working on post-conflict development in the context of a volatile global economy and changing aid architecture, and would also act as an important resource for policy makers.
